Steelers at the sea to sea challenge
140 miles in 6 days, a marathon every day, yet the challenge was completed in 24 hours. 10 athletes from Sheffield (Castle Martial Arts, Jon Jepson Black Belt Academy and Sheffield Steelers) were tough enough to take the sea to sea route on from Workington to Tynemouth. Within the group Steelers Superleague players Darren Greenfield and Colin Price mastered the route on hand cycles - a challenge which will leave impressions on all participants for years to come.
On Friday they were joined by Steelers Players Stephen Birkby, Steve Ryan, Eve and Simon, Jo, Harry, Joe Caudwell and Mark Scholefield.
Goal was to raise £10.000 for the children cancer charity Clic Sargent and Steelers Wheelchair Basketball Club.
