Steelers send out 21 members to take part in the most prestigious club tournament

 

Spitfire Challenge - here we come

After more than 9 months of planning and organising, Steelers are proud to send out two teams, altogether 21 Steelers members to the most prestigious club tournament in the world - the Spitfire Challenge in Toronto, Canada.

Steelers 1 (Mark Scholefield, Jo Harper, Colin Price, Maddie Thompson, Joe Caudwell, Jack Waring, Jessica Pilkington,) play in the open division Larry Galbright against various club teams.

Steelers 2 (Sultan Al-Esayi, Steve Ryan, Paul Gregory, Yvonne Waft, Paul Bentley, Liam Twigg, Joe Williams, Manja Wolfram) play in the open division Duncan Worthington against teams such as the Mexican national women, Canada national women and under 23 team.

The GB men are also taking part in the national men team division, altogether 19 teams from all over the world will play from the 29th July to the 1st August in the Spitfire Challenge.

Apart from playing basketball Steelers will do sightseeing, go to the Niagara Falls, check out the canadian shopping malls and enjoy the average 32 degrees in Toronto, Ontario.
