Nearing the end of season

SSB Steelers had a fantastic season 2010/ 2011 so far. All teams are showing high competitiveness in their respective leagues, with Steelers 1, 3 and womens team being in the second place. Last weekend, playing the Wolverhampton Rhinos, was a display of skills and team work with Superleague and Team 3 (Maurice) only loosing by a few points after tough encounters against the Rhinos.

The big showdown will be in Sheffield, English Institute of Sport on the 14th and 15th of May at the Play Off's. Only a few more games are to be played for some of the SSB teams, and the Superleague team, coached by Steve Owen and Kevin Hayes are preparing for the Eurocup final - Willi Brinkmann Cup next weekend in Madrid.

Despite some individual injuries the club spirit is high and positive.

The Spitifire players and club members are busy raising funds for the tournament taking place in Canada in August this year. A special Thank You goes to Jonathan Toogood, who did a 30 length swim last week to contribute to the event. For those who don't know Jonathan, he is SSB Steelers biggest fan and trained hard for the swim in the past weeks.

We hope all players, members and fans enjoy the rest of the season and what comes after. Happy Easter!
