Castle Martial Arts & Steelers have a Wheelie Fun Day
Sheffield Steelers Wheelchair Basketball Club joined forces with Castle Martial Arts to help raise money towards an adventure weekend with Kielder next April, in a spectacular display of wheelchair basketball meets martial arts.
Members of Steelers coached the teams of members from Castle Martial Arts, and with names like team ‘Karate Kit’, ‘Jackie Chan’, ‘JCVD’ and ‘Bruce Lee’, it was clear all the games would be tough and well spirited. Teams ‘Steven Seagal’ and ‘Jet Li’ played off in a hotly contested final with team Steven Seagal coming out the victor. Teams ‘Grand Master Sheehan’ and ‘Kung Fu Panda’ drew for third place. Spectators and supporters were also treated to a display of control and athleticism, as members from Castle Martial Arts demonstrated complex martial arts moves.
Colin Price, Chair of Sheffield Steelers commented, ‘this is the third Fun Day we have had with Castle Martial Arts, and we have done several other fundraising events including a ‘sea to sea’ trek last year. They are truly becoming great friends and an extended part of our sporting family.’
